Nightsister - Style Mashup

Throughout September, I've been collaborating with my fellow art traveler Deanna Crisbacher to reimagine each other's work in our personal styles. While we both have similar interests in subject matter, we have such a strong contrast in our workflow and techniques, which breeds compelling juxtaposition. For her portion, she's taken for my older sketch "The Ranger" and created form and visual interest through her monochromatic painting style under my linear framework. Here, for Nightsister, I've designed structured linework over her expressive rendering style, obviously adapting and embellishing the subject along the way. ...always looking for an excuse to draw some skeles & ribcages.

This process has been an incredibly rewarding challenge; I highly recommend finding an artist you contrast with and trying this out yourself!

Check out Deanna's work to see the other half of the mashup.
